3 and 4-year-olds

All 3 and 4 year old children are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week. This funding from the Government starts from 1st January, 1st April or 1st September following your child’s 3rd birthday.

Working families may also be entitled to an additional 15 hours free childcare each week, making a total of 30 hours. To check if you are eligible to receive this funding please refer to https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Please note that you must apply for and receive your eligibility code before the beginning of the term for which you wish to claim the 30 hours free childcare (term dates as above).

A signed Parental Declaration Form is required for all funded children, this is available from the Preschool office.

We provide funded sessions, subject to availability, up to 30 hours per week during term time only.

For younger children and extra sessions, fees are charged per session (3 hours).  Invoices are sent out during the penultimate week of the previous term and payment is required by the end of the first week of the new term.

2-year-olds

We accept 2 year old children who receive government funding. This is subject to session availability.

From September 2025, 30 hours of Government funding will be available for working families with children from the age of 9 months.
Parents need to apply for this funding and be given an eligibility code. The eligibility code must be issued before the deadline , detailed below, in order for the funding to be claimed.

Deadlines:
To use funding from 1 September, the code must have a start date no later than 31 August
To use funding from 1 January, the code must have a start date no later than 31 December
To use funding from 1 April, the code must have a start date no later than 31 March.
Parents are advised to apply at least 6 weeks before the deadline.

Early Years Pupil Premium

The  Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is an additional sum of money paid to childcare providers for 2, 3 and 4- year-old children of families in receipt of certain benefits. This funding will be used to enhance the quality of their early years’ experience by improving the teaching, learning, facilities and resources, with the aim of impacting positively on your child’s progress and development.

By signing the Parental Declaration Form, Swindon Borough Council is authorised to check the eligibility of each child.

Fees for non-funded sessions

From September 2025 fees are:

Non-funded sessions for 2-year-olds  £21.00 per session
Non-funded sessions for 3 and 4-year-olds  £18.00 per session
